This list is a short rundown of my favorite keyboard shortcuts in the Atom Text Editor. Quicker than using the finder bar or right clicking on individual files.

When item is selected from tree view you’re prompted to create a new file or folder.

When item is selected from tree view you are prompted to duplicate the selected file or folder.

Delete

delete

From tree view delete selected file or folder.

New Window & Open Project In Tree View

shift + command + N

Open a new window, I use this in conjunction with the following command.

shift + command + O

Add a project folder to the tree view.

Comment Selection Or Line

command + /

Comment out the selected area in a file based on the selected syntax.

Highlight Duplicates

command + d

While hightlighting text in the editor, this command will select the following instances of of matching text, allowing you to find additional places where this text exists or make mass edits.

Toggle Focus & Hide Files & Folders

control + 0

Toggle focus from editor to tree view.

Hide “hidden” files & folders.

Open the command pallete to quick search for settings for packages, themes, keybindings & more.
